LooCubes – the Perfect Toilet Block for Glamping and Campgrounds

When it comes to camping… there’s camping, and then there’s camping. Sure everyone can have cold showers or clean themselves in a creek and poop in a hole in the ground with only the toilet roll and a hand shovel for company, but who really wants to do that?

Toilet blocks at campgrounds at least enable families to go camping and have somewhere they can use amenities, shower and get a taste of roughing it without having to resort to squatting behind a bush when the call of nature becomes too great.

Why toilet blocks in campgrounds are important

We could talk about the convenience to your customers and the expectation that for most services around the country, people expect a working toilet to be available but the main benefit of installing a toilet block in your camping ground, glamping site or holiday spot is public health.

Having a central area to manage waste as well as offering customers somewhere to wash and clean their hands means customers don’t have to manage their waste themselves (difficult, and not everyone is willing to do this) and greatly reduces the chance of any public health issues related to having multiple, random spots around your camping sites used as makeshift toilets.

What are the difficulties of having toilet buildings in a campground?

Having toilet blocks built in out-of-the-way or remote areas comes with its own set of challenges that can put some campground owners off having them installed in the first place. We list some of these difficulties and how LooCubes overcomes each of these.

Problem: Remote areas can be a logistical nightmare
Often if you want to see the most beautiful places, you have to go off the beaten track a little. With remote campgrounds, getting to them might take you down thin dirt roads, firebreaks, tracks and trails that may be difficult to reach with a conventional vehicle.

Given an on-site built building requires several types of trades (concrete, sheet metal, wood, tradespeople, etc) it can be a logistical nightmare to coordinate everyone to arrive at these spots at the required time.

Solution: LooCubes come prefabricated with everything you need
In most cases, one truck is all that’s required to have your modular toilet buildings delivered and ready to go. No coordination between several companies and trades to have your separate building materials delivered.

Problem: Town water isn’t available
If your campsite or glamping grounds are a little out of the way, there’s a good chance town water isn’t available for people to wash their hands or use the amenities.

Solution: Add a water tank
LooCubes are built with the environment in mind. That’s why we have water tank additions that can easily be added to your toilet buildings if town water isn’t available.

Problem: The site doesn’t have access to sewerage lines or isn’t viable for a septic tank
Often for campsites in remote, heritage-listed or environmentally vulnerable areas, a septic tank isn’t an option as it can cause damage to groundwater if there’s ever a problem with the tank.

Solution: Install composting toilets
LooCubes are compatible with many different types of composting toilet systems that we can provide.

Problem: Electricity isn’t readily available
Not all campsites have easy access to the electrical grid as they’re far away from power lines or they’re too remote to run lines to power elements of the restroom facilities.

Solution: Add solar power
All our LooCubes have a solar-powered option available to power lights and exhaust fans for composting toilets.

LooCubes are the perfect campground toilet block as they’re easy and quick to install and they can be hooked up to solar power, tank water and have composting toilets installed to make them a true off-grid toilet block solution.
