Prefabricated restroom buildings for public areas – what are the options?

Installing toilet buildings in parks, playgrounds or sporting ovals can come with its own range of issues. How far away from town water is the building being set up? How long will construction take? Will the building require mains power? LooCube approaches these questions with the straightforward mindset that installing modular toilet buildings in parks, reservoirs, playgrounds or sporting facilities should be easy, simple and quick.

There should also be a range of available options for toilet types, the ability to install solar and have multiple modular components that can be added to the building upon install or later down the track if required.

How we solve the challenge of installing toilet buildings in public places

If you’ve had to manage, plan, install or construct any type of amenities blocks for parks and recreation areas, you realise these types of buildings come with their own range of challenges. LooCube has taken into consideration many of the challenges businesses, organisations, councils and government bodies face when installing toilet blocks in public areas.

Flexible configuration

LooCube’s flexible configurations gives groups, organisations and councils a wide range of options when it comes to how a toilet block should be configured. Our modular approach towards toilet building construction means it’s a very simple process of bolting on additional blocks should demand increase or change.

Our simple, modular approach takes the headaches out of installing toilet buildings in multiple locations as each building takes the same approach to its configuration but is also flexible enough to have a range of options. For example, a modular toilet block can be plumbed into mains water and use traditional flushing toilets whilst another building can use composting toilets and water tanks for water delivery.

Our modular toilet buildings enable the delivery of gendered bathrooms, ambulant accessible facilities, unisex cubicles and open wash basins, if required.

Can be installed in any location

Our modular toilet buildings for parks, sports grounds and recreational areas are built incorporating GRP (Glass Reinforced Polymer) building materials. This gives our buildings a robust construction that won’t rust, corrode, be affected by termites and can incorporate flame retardants for fire prone areas.

Given the ease of installation, our module toilet builds are perfect for areas with high pedestrian volume, picnic areas, BBQs, areas of frequent public/sporting activity, parks and recreational areas.

Accessibility options

As with any public building, accessibility is an important factor to consider, particularly for public restrooms. Our prefab, modular toilet buildings are accessible by both able-bodied people and people with disabilities and follow the Australian Standards AS2890 and AS1428 for accessibility.

A range of lighting options are available

Because of the flexible nature of our modular toilet buildings, a range of different lighting options are available within our LooCubes. Natural lighting and skylights can be used to reduce the dependency on electrical lighting during sunlight hours.

Likewise, vandal resistant lighting can easily be provided in our buildings if LooCubes are being installed in public areas where vandalism is a concern. Time activated or photo sensitive lighting options are also available should they be required.

LooCubes are built with robust materials

One of the challenges buildings in public areas face is vandalism. Whilst spray paint, tags, graffiti and other types of art-based vandalism can be easily dealt with, destruction of property is a far more expensive and difficult task to alleviate.

Our fire and rot resistant, lightweight fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) frames and colorbond steel construction means that vandalism is not only difficult, but should it happen, sections of the building are incredibly easy to repair or replace.

LooCubes cover your environmental sustainability considerations

We’ve taken into consideration water and energy use in the design of our toilet buildings. Our buildings have been designed to incorporate composting toilets, desiccation toilets and dry vault systems.

This, combined with the installation of solar panels for lighting and exhaust fans and water tanks for water delivery to sinks means our LooCube modular toilet systems are the perfect solution for sensitive areas or for businesses, organisations, councils and sporting clubs looking for a toilet building solution that uses very little water, has solar capabilities, enables the use of natural light and produces little to no waste or by-products.

Management, maintenance and cleaning is easy

The robust nature of our buildings along with a simple layout means cleaning and maintenance of our LooCube buildings is easy and straight-forward. Not only are the building walls, stainless steel pedestals and sinks easy to clean, our composting toilet options means there’s no chemicals or mains water required to deal with waste.

LooCubes are a true environmentally friendly public toilet block solution.
